Back to Plains Hognose Morph List
The Swiss Chocolate gene is a recessive gene that when expressed results in an increased amount of pigment. Since hognoses are usually medium brown this results in a much darker snake that has a more chocolate brown color. They closely resemble the Sable morph but are slightly darker and lean more warm brown, than the Sable.
